Morgan's Monday Moments -- Mama Summah Vibes

Summer has officially been over for a few weeks but it hit me this weekend with some leaves on the ground and it felt like fall.  This week I wanted to give some major love to the new mama's I had the pleasure to photograph, one of whom delivered last week, and another whose baby shower I got to attend this weekend.

Having not gone through this miracle myself, I really marvel at the way pregnancy brings out the shine in a woman's soul.  There's a calmness and glow and I think having photos to show its magic is so powerful!

For Jasmine and her family, we had a ball shooting a little in their condo, then roaming around Polk Street a bit then landing at a hidden little walkway close to North Beach.  They are the epitome of a San Francisco family, one that I've been so close to for years and it's always amazing to spend time and laugh and reminisce.  My favorite way to shoot is to roam around together -- sometimes it takes a little while to get warmed up in front of the camera and to feel where you feel your most "you."  Inevitably you find your spot and it's usually never where you would've thought when you started out, like this gorgeous brick wall that complimented their blue outfits so perfectly!

With Samantha she came prepared with 3 outfits and we had the expansive Berkeley Rose Garden to explore, lots of foliages and angles to explore.  Each outfit brought out a different side of the pregnant version of herself, and it was so fun to play with that throughout the shoot.  Her and Rich were so excited to welcome their first one in, they could barely take their eyes off of each other.

I think this moment for families is so magical, and sometimes the hustle and bustle of these months fly by.  Taking a few hours to be together, honor the transformation that is happening every second, and create tangible memories that last forever is so powerful.  Just learn from Jasmine & Sam!! :)
